Born on January November 29th 1978 in Kranj, Slovenia. Finished master’s thesis for international relations and European studies at the Central-European University in Budapest, Hungary, in 2003.
She has been in MCIC since 2003. Her main responsibility is coordinating programmes for regional cooperation and European integrations. She is the coordinator of the Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN) - a network consisting of 14 civil society and ecumenical organizations from countries from the Western Balkan, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia. During her six years of experience she has managed several programmes and projects pertaining to networking, capacity building of civil society organizations in the region and cross-border cooperation. Thus, Tanja Hafner Ademi has acquired in-depth knowledge of the needs of the civil society sector in the Balkans.She is a member and active participant in several EU networks (APRODEV, CONCORD) and is vice-president of the CONCORD working group for neighbourhood and expanding (EPAN). She has participated in the formulation of number of EU projects (CARDS, IPA, EIDHR) and was a team leader of the project CARDS Regional Network to Network 2003: Partnership in Action-Strengthening Balkan Civil Society Development Network (2006-7).
She has delivered large number of trainings on development of EU projects, aimed at representatives of civil society organizations, municipalities, ministries in the region, for the needs of the European Commission, OSCE, MRGI, NCA, ISPJR, etc. As an expert on EU integrations, she has prepared two publications, one of which is Manual on Community Programmes of the Government of Republic of Macedonia. She has led six external evaluation missions within projects of the civic association MOST. She is fluent speaker of and teaches in: Macedonian, Slovenian (mother tongue), English and Serbian/Bosnian/Croatian, and has basic knowledge of German and Albanian.
